Ask a parent if you can gather books you no longer read and sell them to a used bookstore. Your books will find new homes and you'll make some extra money.
What can be held without ever being touched?
Sweet & Salty
Put caramel candies and chocolate chips on top of a few saltines and ask an adult to melt them for a few seconds in the microwave. It's a great snack!
Sketch It Out
When I want to rearrange my room, I draw my ideas in my sketchpad first. Then, with a parent's help, I move the furniture around to reflect my drawing. It's easier to rearrange everything with a plan.
When you babysit, make a chart on a piece of paper. Write things such as brush teeth, eat dinner, clean up room, pick up toys, and go to bed. When the child finishes a task, put a sticker next to it on the chart. Once the child has done every chore, she can get a small prize. Her parents will be proud!
Give each player a wrapped gift (such as a small, inexpensive object) and a pair of mittens. See who can unwrap her present the fastest while wearing mittens!
Add a little personality to a pen. Cut a strip of patterned duct tape and wrap it around a pen (just don't cover the part that writes or the cap). Try to keep the tape tight, or else there will be bumps. Now it's time to write!
Sing the Words
When I need to memorize vocabulary words or information, I put it into a song and sing it a few times. I write down the song so that I'll have it for future use. This always works for me!
