I started a business with my friend-we plan birthday parties for little kids! With a parent's permission, we handed out fliers to people in our neighborhood. We charge $25 for each party, and we bring most of the supplies and run the parties. Usually we make a profit of about $10 per party.
What is green and goes up and down? A cucumber in an elevator!
Apple of My Eye
Ask an adult to cut an apple into slices. Then, fill a heat-safe bowl with chocolate chips and ask an adult to heat the bowl in the microwave until the chips are melted. When it has cooled a bit, dip the apple slices into the chocolate and sprinkle on crushed graham crackers. Put them on a plate and place them in the refrigerator. When the chocolate has set, enjoy your sweet slices.
Sort It Out
This is an easy way to make cleaning your room faster and more efficient. Dump all of the clutter in your room into one big pile. Sort your items into smaller piles: things you want to keep in your room, things you can store in another place, things you want to donate, and things you can throw away or recycle (just be sure to ask a parent for permission first). Then you'll have fewer things to put away, and you'll have an organized room.
When you babysit, always check with the parent to find out what you should do if the phone or doorbell rings. It's always good to know what to do if you find yourself in either situation.
This game can be played with two or more people. Start with a die and a pad of paper. Each person has to roll either a five or a one. Fives count as 50 points, and ones count as 100 points. The first person to reach 5,000 points wins the game.
Choose a theme or thing that you love. Then get a large piece of poster board. On one side, draw the thing that you love (I drew a picture of a dog). On the other side, I cut out pictures of dogs from magazines and glued them to the board. Hang the poster on your wall and flip it over when you want a change of scenery. Have fun!
If you feel discouraged about a bad grade, remember: You can learn from your mistakes. Study harder the next time and ask your teacher for help if you need it.
